Identification of FLLOCA Projects Kicks Off

Stakeholders involvement is crucial in identification, implementation and sustainability of projects. County Government through the Department of Lands, Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change has embarked on the identification of projects across the wards to be supported by Financing Locally Led Climate Change Action (FLLOCA).

Flloca, a community-driven project endeavours to improve the livelihoods of communities and hence will support projects related to Water, Environment and Agriculture.

The team from the department and the Members of the County Assembly present together with representatives from Civil Society Organizations, Farmers, Business Communities, People Living with Disabilities, Women and youth have identified projects such as coffee propagation, planting of macadamia and avocado seedlings, beekeeping, provision of solar powered water and conservation of riparian lands.

Speaking during the meetings, several MCAs emphasized on having projects that are viable and sustainable to the community.
