{"id":3620,"date":"2024-06-06T16:58:00","date_gmt":"2024-06-06T16:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flloca.nandicounty.go.ke\/?p=3620"},"modified":"2025-02-07T05:05:38","modified_gmt":"2025-02-07T05:05:38","slug":"capacity-building-for-members-of-county-assembly-on-the-flloca-grants-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flloca.nandicounty.go.ke\/index.php\/2024\/06\/06\/capacity-building-for-members-of-county-assembly-on-the-flloca-grants-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Capacity Building For Members of County Assembly on The FLLoCA Grants Program"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The County government of Nandi through the Department of Lands, Physical Planning Water, Environment, and Climate Change today held a consultative meeting with the county assembly, to discuss the implementation of the FLLoCA program which will touch all the 30 wards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Financing Locally Led Climate Action Program(FLLoCA) is a World Bank-funded program targeting to build the resilience of communities in matters of climate change impacts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program focuses on capitalizing the national and county climate change funds, building county-level capacity for planning, budgeting reporting and implementation of local climate action in partnership with communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Due to its efficient use of previous Flloca funds, Nandi county received a resource capacity of Ksh 217 million shillings, which has been distributed to the 5 sectors: water, environment, agriculture, infrastructure and recurrent expenditure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking at the meeting, Chief Officer Lands, Physical Planning, Water, Environment and Climate Change, Jonah Biwott, asked the MCAs to support the programs and ensure projects are done to the required standard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The county assembly members unanimously resolved to support the implementation of the proposed projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Present at the meeting were: the speaker Hon. Philemon Meli, deputy Speaker Hon. Wilson Sang, Leader of majority Hon. Walter Teno, Majority Whip Hon. Julius Ketter, Leader of minority Hon. Eliud Kirongo, MCAs drawn from all wards and directors James Meli and Richard Lelei.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1
